Frequently asked questions
Why can't I check out directly on the website?
Ellima is an independent atelier operating on a made-to-order basis rather than as a traditional online store. For now, our website serves as a curated portfolio of the collection and a place to discover the world of Ellima.
If you are interested in a piece, simply get in touch with us via WhatsApp or email to ellimaofficial@gmail.com. We will personally guide you through availability, sizing, fabrics, timelines, and any bespoke requests before confirming.
This slower, more personal approach allows us to create each garment with the care, craftsmanship, and attention it deserves.
Are Ellima pieces made to order?
At Ellima, pieces are created upon request rather than produced in advance and stored in stock. This allows us to preserve a more traditional way of making, focusing on craftsmanship, thoughtful production, and the time required to create garments with lasting value.
What sizes do you offer?
Our garments are available in sizes XS–L. Detailed measurements can be found in our size guide. If you require a more personalized fit, bespoke sizing may be available for an additional fee.

What is bespoke sizing?
Bespoke sizing is created specifically to your measurements. While our standard sizes XS–L accommodate a wide range of body shapes, bespoke sizing offers a more individualized fit and is available for selected designs.
What if my garment doesn't fit?
Every Ellima piece is made to order. To help you find the right fit, we provide a detailed size guide and are always happy to answer any questions.
If minor adjustments are needed, we recommend visiting a trusted local tailor. Most simple alterations can be completed quickly while preserving the original design.
We also offer bespoke sizing for an additional fee, allowing your garment to be made to your individual measurements.
What fabrics do you use?
We focus on carefully selected fabrics with a natural feel and beautiful movement, including cotton, linen, and viscose. Each material is chosen for its texture, comfort, and ability to bring our silhouettes to life.
All Ellima pieces are finished with a cotton or viscose lining for comfort and a considered feel against the skin.
Some pieces may feature special fabrics with their own unique character, such as the soft plumetis tulle used in the Camila Set from the Gardenia Collection.
Can I choose a different fabric?
Yes. Each silhouette is available in a curated selection of fabrics chosen specifically for that design. The base price varies depending on the fabric selected.
Can I modify the design?
Our silhouettes are designed as complete compositions and are not altered. Personalization is offered through our curated fabric selection and two fitting options: Standard Size or Made to Measure.
Will sold-out pieces return?
Ellima is built around a growing library of signature silhouettes. While many of these remain part of the collection, certain pieces are created for a particular season or story and may not be produced again.
As some fabrics are sourced in limited quantities, availability may also change over time. If a piece speaks to you, we encourage you not to wait too long.
Can I visit the atelier?
At the moment, Ellima does not have a permanent boutique or showroom. As an independent house, we are growing thoughtfully, and our long-term vision is to open our first boutique in Lima, Peru.
In the meantime, we occasionally offer personal fittings with our founder, Katharina Hogenkamp. Depending on your location and availability, travel costs or a fitting fee may apply.
Any future boutique openings, pop-ups, trunk shows, or appointment opportunities will be announced through our social channels.
If you have any questions or would like to enquire about a personal fitting, we would be delighted to hear from you.
